VETERAN writer Nkosana Manxiweni Sibanda (74) is appealing for funding from donors to bankroll the publication of an anthology of poems.

In an interview with Southern Eye Lifestyle Sibanda said he was struggling to get a publisher for his latest collection of creative work.
“Since I am retired I find myself writing more,” he said. “I have over 100 poems that I have written, I have tried to publish the poems, but have failed because of lack of funding. It would be a great delight to find a publisher to assist me,” he said.
Through his vast experience as a veteran educator-cum-artiste, Sibanda has undertaken educational tours to the resort town of Victoria falls, Chinhoyi Caves, Inyanga Range, Birchenough Bridge, Hokai Game Park and Hwange Game Park.
He has toured South African tourist attactions, among them Mandela Palace, Johannesburg Roadnet Work, Botswana’s Kalahari Desert, Malawi’s Parliamentary Houses, Mt Mlanje and Tea Estates in Kenya, the Rift Valley in East Africa and the Kikuyu lands.
Sibanda, who derives his inspiration from prolific playwright William Shakespeare and Zimbabwean writer NS Sigogo, has written a textbook for Grades 6 and 7 titled Sidlingqondo. He has authored Ndebele novels Okungayisikufa yikuphi, Ngangoneni. He has unpublished novel Uyihlo nguyihlo which was lost.
Sibanda is a holder of Bachelor in Education degree who has several published poems under his belt, among them Entolongweni, Sibanengi, Ntombi yami MaDube, Umsobho Wempisi and several others.
