VICTORIA FALLS — Former leading tour operator and travel agent, United Touring Company (UTC)’s property is set to go under the hammer after 23 former workers were granted an order by the High Court to attach property to recover nearly $200 000 in terminal benefits.

UTC folded last year and workers initiated court proceedings to recover about $186 000 in terminal benefits.

Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Maxwell Takuva last week granted the order for UTC property to be attached.

The attached property includes a fuel service station, a depot and a house in Victoria Falls. Any additional property found at the premises will also be attached.

UTC was ordered to pay the costs of the suit.

The Messenger of Court attached the property on Tuesday last week.

“I (have) attached right interests and title to stands 294 Victoria Falls held under Deed of Transfer 180/1973, stand 293 held under Deed of Transfer 897/1974 and stand 193 under Deed of Transfer 718/1972,” the notice of attachment handed over to UTC accountant Farai Beta, reads. – The Source
