PRIVILEGE SHOKO OWN CORRESPONDENT Family members were too shaken to speak to Southern Eye saying the police were in a better position to comment.

However, when acting Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Abednico Ncube was contacted for comment, he referred this publication to the Bulawayo Traffic West branch. The traffic department referred Southern Eye back to the press office.

According to an eyewitness Oliver Nyathi, the driver of the kombi rammed into the vehicle when he attempted to make a U-turn to flee from cops after spotting a roadblock. The vehicle was knocked into a nearby trench, but miraculously no one was injured.

“The driver of the kombi was running away from the police when he hit the car. Luckily no one was injured, but the driver of the kombi fled from the scene,” Nyathi said.
