Ronald Zhou (31) of Mangena village under Chief Mahlebadza appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Story Rushambwa facing a murder charge for allegedly causing the death of his girlfriend Tendai Kurehwatire (22) of Mandava.
He was remanded in custody to September 18 when a date would be set for him to appear in the High Court.
The State alleged that sometime in June, Kurehwatire decided to end her affair with the married Zhou and stick to her unnamed newly-found lover.
She then secured a peace order barring Zhou from visiting her Mandava home.
However, Zhou ignored the peace order and continued to visit Kurehwatire’s house demanding sexual favours.
The State alleged that one day Zhou went to Kurehwatire’s residence with a 500ml container of a suspected highly corrosive acid he spilled all over her body.
