Siphiwe Bridget Dube decided to leave the group while Claire Rati Dangarembwa is currently on an extended tour with Bongo Love in the United States.

Southern Eye Lifestyle has it on good authority that Zanele Manhenga — Uza — as she is affectionately known in music circles, and Thandeka Moyo are the latest additions to Nobuntu.

Uza has performed with Clare Nyakujara and her sister the jazz queen Dudu Manhenga, in shows including one in Book Café, Harare to honour and promote the music of the yesteryear legends Cool Crooners and Mbare Trio in September last year.

Nobuntu Spokesperson Duduzile Sibanda said the group was happy to be back at work practicing at Ndlovu Club, Tshabalala.

“We are back at work rehearsing at Ndlovu Club. Joyline Sibanda had visited Germany, and I was on maternity leave. Others were attending to individual shows,” she said.

Tswarelo Mothobi, Ubuntu manager, took to Facebook to confirm the departure of two original members.

“We would like to introduce our cast for 2014, as some of you know that one of Nobuntu members Claire Rati Dangarembwa is currently on tour with Bongo Love in the US. Their tour was extended due to demand and therefore she will not be performing with us until further notice.

“We would like to notify you that Siphiwe Bridget Dube has decided to leave the group. We wish her all the best in her career,” Mothobi said.

Nobuntu is a music production that was conceptualised and founded by 10th District Music and is not identified by faces of the singers, but by the music, concept and its philosophies.

The project is open to any female singers from Zimbabwe provided there is an opening and as long as they adhere to the Nobuntu philosophy.
