The artist who holds an accounting degree from the Walter Sisulu University in South Africa, told Southern Eye Lifestyle that he would be releasing more music in the future because he could now put all his attention towards that effort since he had completed initial degree studies.
“I always want to make music which cuts across all boundaries, music for the masses with a long shelf life not bubble-gum music. That’s why my music has messages,” Nkomo said.
Msiz’kay recorded his first song, Recognition, in 2009 and some of his later productions include Kade Nithetha, Club Shutter featuring Tha Vyrass and Msiz’kay Right Above It Free Style.
“My greatest achievement was when a South Africa-based production house called The MoodFreaks made a beat which I used to record a song — The Secret — and sent it to them, the guys liked and included it on their album, Mummified,” Nkomo said.
Kade Nithetha featured on the ZifM Stereo’s Bulawayo top 10 chart and rose to a number two .
Nkomo is a usual participant in the For You to Enjoy monthly performances at the Bulawayo centre, and Grapevine Rap battles which are monthly rap competitions at the Art Gallery. However, he only performs as a non-contesting contributor.
