ZPC Kariba will have to wait a bit longer before they could use their home ground Nyamhunga Stadium amid reports that there are a “few things” that still have to be sorted out first before it can be certified fit.

ZPC Kariba’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) match against Black Rhinos will be played at Gwanzura on Sunday, but they are still in line to host Dynamos and Caps United at home before the end of the season.
It had been suggested on Tuesday that Nyamhunga Stadium would be ready by the weekend when ZPC Kariba clashes with red hot Black Rhinos.
This was after the Zifa grounds committee visited the stadium to check on its readiness as it has been undergoing renovations after it failed to meet standards at the time ZPC Kariba gained promotion into the elite league last year.
However, PSL chief executive Kenny Ndebele said there were still a few things that needed to be sorted out before it could be declared ready for use.
“The match will be played at Gwanzura. There are still a few things that have to be finalised before Nyamhunga Stadium can be used,” Ndebele said. ZPC Kariba coach Saul Chaminuka has often complained that the team’s travels from Kariba to Harare have had a negative impact on their performance.
They have, however, exceeded expectations as they are still very much in the championship race on third position on the league table with 38 points, four behind log leaders Dynamos with just eight matches remaining in the campaign.

Chaminuka’s men have lost just two matches so far and could close in on the log leaders should they overcome Black Rhinos.
Meanwhile, Black Rhinos coach Jostein Mathuthu said they would not be blinded by his team’s good run since he took over and were approaching the match against ZPC Kariba like any other.
“Never mind where we are coming from. What is important is where we are going. We need to continue working hard to get points,” Mathuthu said.
“We need to continue to do better and we are approaching the match against ZPC Kariba like any other fixture.”
Black Rhinos are coming from a morale boosting 4-0 rout of Triangle in the Chibuku Super Cup but are still battling for survival in fourth place from the bottom with 27 points having drawn 2-2 against Buffaloes and winning 1-0 over Harare City in their previous league match.
