DJ Skaiva stormed into the music scene in 2011 with the aim to revive Zimbabwe house music.

“I have been releasing singles online for free and some have been for sell through other digital platforms like iTunes and traxsource,” he said.

His biggest breakthrough in music industry came about when he signed a pact with the famous South African house music DJ, Soul Candi, when they collaborated to release a track called Day Dreamer.

“This track became one of the biggest hits in South Africa and it came out in first position on YFM radio station for three weeks on the top 100 tracks,” he added.

Sibanda told Woza Weekend that he felt it was time for a breakthrough as many other record labels started scouting for him at Lupane State University.

“I turned down good offers and told myself if it is where I am supposed to be then my time will come,” he said.

Skaiva has been collaborating of late with so many artistes in South Africa and in the United Kingdom.

He started a record label called House Label with Mzoe7 in 2013 and it specialises mainly in mastering recording and playing in special events.

After he released a single called Godopori last year, it became the most played track in all radio stations and he sold over 2 000 copies of compact disks.

He also released other tracks that put him in the spotlight like Namufuro, Break free featuring Rudo, and the Day dreamer.

“I am moving not only regionally but internationally as I have started collaborating with SA stars and also some in the UK. Currently, I am working with a lot of vocalists as we are preparing for the new album launch this October. It is going to blow the continent, it’s super excellent,” he said.
