THE Tsholotsho Rural District Council Communal Areas Management Programmes for Indigenous Resources (Campfire) manager and director of DAP Diesel Injection and Electrical Company in Bulawayo, who defrauded the local authority of $32 000 were last Wednesday slapped with 420 hours of community service for fraud by a Hwange magistrate. SILAS NKALA STAFF REPOPRTER Campfire manager Jericho Moyo of Efusini in Tsholotsho and DAP director Kennias Msipa Zangari of Nketa in Bulawayo had denied the charges when they appeared before magistrate Rose Dube at the start of trial four years ago.

Dube convicted Moyo and Zangari, but acquitted their co-accused, Martin Ndlovu, (the council finance director).

In a judgment read on her behalf by Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove, Dube sentenced Moyo and Zangari to three years in prison.

She suspended one year for five years on condition of good behaviour and another one year on condition they performed 420 hours of community service at Luveve Police Station in Bulawayo.

The remaining one year was suspended on condition they restituted the local authority part of the amount they defrauded.
