A DANCER with the group Sexy Angels led by erotic dancer Zoey was yesterday arraigned before the Zvishavane Magistrates’ Court for stripping naked while performing on stage in the booming mining town. OWN CORRESPONDENT
Lorraine Msipa (19) of New Stands in Gwanda appeared before magistrate Peter Madiba facing public indecency charges and was slapped with a three-month wholly suspended sentence on condition of good behaviour.
It was the State’s case that on September 27 at around 2am, Msipa was dancing on stage together with Zoey and the rest of the group during a show at the Platinum night club.
Msipa stripped stark naked while on stage triggering pandemonium as male patrons all clamoured to get onto the stage where she was.
However, police officers present at the show ordered the disc jockey to stop the music and arrested Msipa and whisked her away.
Msipa told the court that she was not herself and was in a trance when she stripped naked.
“I did not know what was going on and cannot even explain how and why I stripped naked. Maybe I was in a trance,” Msipa said.
