Obadiah Matulana launches DVD

VETERAN musician Obadiah Matulane, who recently bounced back to the music circles after a long self-imposed sabbatical, launches his first-ever digital video disc (DVD) at Makhalanga beer garden in Mpopoma, Bulawayo, on Saturday.

The DVD is entitled Cde Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo.

The 2014 Zimbabwe Music Award nominee will share the stage with Toisen Marirangombe who is known for gospel tracks that are soul taking.

Matulana, who is also as known DR Jah Kanindo, said the DVD will be on sale at the venue, adding that he would be performing some of the tracks live on stage.

Matulana said he was happy that his journey as an artiste had improved with time as he has managed to record a DVD since he started the trade in the early ’90s.

“I’m happy that as an artiste I have moved to modern times of getting my creative output and recorded what matches the times we are living in,” he said.

He urged artistes to come in their numbers and support the initiative that he has started, launching such projects in bars.

“I’m inviting all artists to come in their numbers and support the initiative” Matulana said.

The DVD comprises six tracks which include Divorce, Asambeni Emakhaya, Cde Joshua Nkomo, Testing Ground, I’m Sorry and Sathane .
