The new board comprises Sichilesile Moyo-Ncube as chairperson, Goodness Msimanga, Siqokoqela Mphoko, Hudson Hlabangana, Prince Kunaka and Nomathemba Ndiweni.

Ndiweni is the only member to have been retained from the previous board.

Mpilo Hospital decisions were being made by CEO Lawrance Mantiziba and his executive in the absence of a board.

“This board has a mixture; it put youth, gender and innovation together and the hospital has not had one since August 31 2013. I will expect you to look at the radiotherapy centre as the region is crying for cancer treatment and I expect that Mpilo will build another hospital with this new board,” Parirenyatwa said.

“The board must look at quality at the hospital; nurses must not be seen giving out drugs, but pharmaceutical technicians must do that.”
