ARCHERS Sports Club will hold an internal awards ceremony for their darts club tomorrow. OWN CORRESPONDENT
The club are current champions of the Bulawayo Metropolitan Darts League and will be rewarding their outstanding team members in the previous season.
Some of the accolades to be won are player of the year, players’ player of the year, most improved player and player with most game closes, among many others. Club executive Omega Sibanda said the team was a five-star representative and was in contention to defend the title this year since they were in pole position with six games to go.
“Anybody who does you proud should be honoured, so we have decided to hold a huge celebration for these guys,” he said.
“Iyasa has been invited to spice up the ceremony in an event where most dignitaries have been invited and we now officially extend the same invitation to the public.”
Archers finished the season unbeaten to claim the championship last year and all players received gold medals. However, they will be pampered in-house tomorrow.
“The ceremony will commence at 5pm and will be an opportunity for all darts enthusiasts to enjoy the sport in a lively environment,” Sibanda added.
