The group kept the audience on its toes the moment they took to the stage.

The electrifying four-hour performance was intoxicating and filled with exuberance as the group members did not disappoint.

This was despite the fact that their leader Obert Chunda was not part of the show.

Jade Band took patrons down memory lane by playing yesteryear hits.

Fungai Johns, one of the patrons, said they were impressed by the level of entertainment.

“I have never seen these guys performing like this. They are a powerful group. I have heard about them, but the way they performed is excellent,” he said.

Dave Ncube of Sekunjalo, who run the Selbourne Hotel bars, said the joint had been turned into a home for jazz music.

The group was formed three years ago and has been playing at different shows, corporate functions and wedding parties including in Botswana.

Jade intends to take their music to all countries in Southern Africa and beyond.
