The healthcare provider is based in Chitungwiza, where it presently runs a medical clinic. Speaking to Southern Eye yesterday, Ultramed healthcare director Sydney Mukonoweshuro said the one-stop medical centres would cater for different medical services.

“Ultramed healthcare will soon open a one-stop centre which will include clinics, X-ray, imaging equipment and medical aid services,” he said.

“Chitungwiza is our starting point to set these services, followed by Gweru and then Bulawayo.”

Mukonoweshuro said they had realised that people were moving from one place to another in search of different medical services with various providers.

“We want to bring competence in the sector where a patient gets all services at one place without travelling to and fro,” he said.

“Very soon all these services will be found under one roof.”

Mukonoweshuro said Ultramed healthcare — a joint venture initiative with his two brothers who are also medical doctors, but based in the United Kingdom — had already courted an investor and final logistics were soon to be put in place.

“We are aiming to bring competition in the medical health sector, he said.”

Mukonoweshuro said they wanted to introduce a medical health insurance scheme which would offer affordable prices.

“We want to cater for those who are unemployed, but have income,” he explained.

“We realised that about 90% of the people are not on medical health insurance.”
