Sibanengi Ndebele, popularly known as DJ Mzoe — who doubles up as the entertainment manager at Club Forty-40 — said the winner of the DJs duel would be contracted by the joint for 2015.

Ndebele said the competition was meant to expose upcoming DJs to promoters and club owners.

“This event is done towards the end of the year and this year’s winner will get a contract to spin the decks with us at Club Forty-40 next year,” he said.

“We are excited about the event. It is going to be a tough moment for judges and also for fans to decide who is the best as we have gathered the finest disc jockeys in the city.

“We have introduced three female DJs for the night as an initiative to erase the mentality that it is a men’s field.”

DJ Mzoe, Zet Factor, Ally Touch , Lasky , D- Bongz , Theo, Fritz, Khums, Yori Nice and female DJs Linda Siziba — better known as DJ Ndoe and Lady Carol as some of the entertainers expected to take part.

The winner will also walk home with prize money, which is being kept a secret until the crowning moment.

Local artistes including Gregory, Amaghost, Major, Mzoe 7 (ZIMA nominee), Khoi Khoi and M5 among others would make appearances.
