The Yakhani Vaka and Win competition ran from April 1 to June 30 this year and was aimed at driving up volumes of cement sales at the country’s leading cement maker. Letha and Moyo’s residential stands are located in Emganwini.

Out of the 32 tonnes of cement, the two are required to donate 30 tonnes to a school of their choice while the remainder is for their personal use.

Letha donated her 30 tonnes to Tetshaneni Primary School in Tsholotsho and the cement was delivered to the school by PPC yesterday.

Moyo’s donation is set to be delivered to an unnamed school in Filabusi today. Speaking at a handover function in the city yesterday, PPC area manager Nkosana Mapuma congratulated the winners and urged people to continue supporting his company.

“The winners of the competition had to buy five bags of cement to get a coupon,” he said.

“The more cement they bought, the more coupons they got. We will be donating 30 tonnes of cement to Tetshaneni Primary School in Tsholotsho which was chosen by Letha and a school in Filabusi chosen by Moyo. The remaining two tonnes is meant to help the winners build their own houses at the residential stands.”

PPC general manager Roger Steyn congratulated the winners and urged them to build their houses with confidence.

The grand draw of the Yakhani Vaka and Win competition was conducted in August in Bulawayo with four PPC customers and four retailers winning residential stands, cement and four brand new forklifts.
