“I wish to inform all our valued members of the university community that the institution now has designated parking areas both at the main campus and the Graduate School of Business Leadership, faculties of commerce and law campus,” he said.

“In this regard, therefore, the culture of parking cars anywhere and everywhere is strictly forbidden with immediate effect.”

Mupfiga said the university’s security department had been instructed to enforce the new parking regulations.

He said the department of works and estates had been instructed to install “No Parking” signs in all undesignated areas.

“The university is in the process of instituting a clamping system which will see cars parked in inappropriate areas being clamped and the drivers being fined heavily for the offence,” Mupfiga said.

He said the new development is meant to satisfy parking needs of staff, students and other stakeholders, as well as protecting and preserving the beauty of the higher learning institution.
