Sibanengi Ndebele, aka DJ Mzoe, the organiser of the awards, told Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday that the club would hold the red carpet event to honour and celebrate works of local artists that performed at Club Forty-40 in 2014.

“This is the first time a club has held such a big event in Bulawayo.

“The awards are a token of appreciation for the support we got from local artistes, the media and patrons that shared their joy and fun with us in 2014,” Ndebele said.

He said the awards would be divided into 23 categories.

“There are going to be certificates that will be awarded to the winners and cash prizes to be won on the day. We will be fair and the voting starts today (Sunday) at the club.

“All we ask is for people to support the movement because Club Forty-40 Awards will become a game-changer in the music industry in Bulawayo and become the most consistent music awards show,” he added.

He said the guest of honour would be revealed before the end of this week.
