The two were on loan to How Mine from Aces Academy for the 2014 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season after having joined the gold miners for 2014 Confederation Cup.

FC Platinum media liaison officer Chido Chizondo yesterday confirmed that they were negotiating with Aces Academy for the two players while How Mine chairman Mlondolozi Nkomo said they were seeking an extension of the loan agreement on Bernard.

“We work in partnership with Aces Academy and we have their players Wisdom Mutasa and Walter Musona,” he said.

“We want to extend their loans. We are in discussion with them for (Donovan) Bernard and Emmanuel (Mandiranga). Hopefully we will finalise the squad tonight (yesterday) for the Confederation Cup).”

Nkomo said he was aware that FC Platinum were targeting Bernard.

“I have heard the rumours that they (FC Platinum) are after Bernard, but we are also in discussion with Aces Academy to retain the goalkeeper,” he said.

FC Platinum secured the ticket to represent the country in next year’s Confederation Cup after winning the Chibuku Super Cup.

The draw for the continental showpiece will be held in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday.

Some of the players targeted by FC Platinum are Caps United’s Tendai Samanja and Black Rhinos’ Brian Muzondiwa.
