The 17-year old St Johns’ College student, who was making his debut at the prestigious tournament, played at the Baltimore Golf Club, carded rounds of 73, 68, 72 and 70 for a one under par 283 total.
He finished six shots behind the eventual champion, Chile’s Joaquin Niemann, who was consistent throughout the tournament with rounds of 67, 71, 72 and 67 for a seven-under total of 277.
Young Vincent, whose performance is sure to catch the eye of several scouts from several top US universities, will also be eligible to compete at the same tournament again next year.
The solid display in the US completed a remarkable season for Vincent, who also won the Zimbabwe Matchplay Championship and finished third at the Nomads SA Boys Under-17 Stroke Play Championship early this year.
Meanwhile, Stuart Krog, who went to the US with high hopes after a solid display at the same tournament last year, found the going tough this time around as he shot 72, 75, 74 and 77 to finish in a tie for position 33.
Zimbabwe Junior Golf Association president Brian Maphosa praised the young golfers for their solid performance, saying it capped of a successful season for junior golf in the country.
