Musharu was joint top goalscorer with former Highlanders attacking midfielder Charles Sibanda who is now his teammate at the Metallon Gold-sponsored side, on 12 goals each last season.
How Mine chairman Mlondolozi Nkomo yesterday confirmed that the forward was in South Africa for trials.
“Musharu left Bulawayo via Harare on Saturday to attend trials at Mpumalanga Black Aces for two weeks,” he said. “He then connected to South Africa on Sunday. Our policy is that if a player gets an opportunity to further his career we do not stand in his way.
“If the club is going to be interested in him and the player is interested then he will go.”
Head coach Luke Masomere said he was happy that Musharu got the opportunity to attend the test.
“When a player gets such an opportunity, it is good because it motivates other players,” he said.

“Players outside the country put us on the map. Football is now business, you have to buy and sell players.”
Should Musharu make the grade, he will join Zimbabwe striker Tendai Ndoro at the club also known as Amazayoni. Ndoro made an impact in his first season after joining Amazayoni from Zimbabwe PSL side Chicken Inn and has attracted the interest of cash-rich Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
Mpumalanga are coached by former South African national team coach Clive Barker.
Mbombela Stadium in Witbank is their home ground.
They are on position nine on the log table with 21 points from 17 games.
