Government’s information tsar, Jonathan Moyo joined social networking site, Twitter yesterday, triggering excitement among Zimbabwean users of the platform.
Moyo, the Information minister, has for years seemed to be averse to social networking sites, at one point strenuously denying that he had set up a Facebook account.
The Information minister’s first tweets were a lengthy explanation on why he had joined twitter and Facebook.
Some Zimbabweans on twitter, who refer to themselves as “Twimbos” have already warned Moyo to prepare for a rough ride on the social networking site, while others welcomed him, saying he should have long signed up on the social networking site.
