Song told Southern Eye Lifestyle that their love for Christ compelled them to host the concert in appreciation of the talents that God had blessed them with.

“The Bible says there is a time and a season for everything under the sun, hence the church felt it was time to host the in-house appreciation concert to acknowledge the various gifts in the church,” Song said.

“We also wanted to encourage people who are gifted to believe in themselves seeing there is no one born of woman who is without abilities.”

Several local gospel acts such as Shekinah Glory, Destiny Praise, Heart of Worship, Light House Ministries and Christ Embassy Choir blessed the audience with their melodious rhythms.

Song, however, expressed his concerns about the state and growth of the gospel scene in this region.

“There is one thing of concern though; few individuals seem to be growing and taking notable steps. If only there could be more promoters.

“The Bible says the harvest is plenty, but labourers are few; lack of promoters in the region is a major problem. There is need to uplift each other.

“Gospel music is all about preaching the gospel and preparing the way of the Lord; it is for people to know that God loves them and cares for them, hence drawing their attention to the knowledge of God.”

Song said more such concerts were in the pipe line.
