The Phuma Kimi hit-maker’s maiden Zimbabwean show was on Valentine’s Day last month in Harare, leaving his Bulawayo fans disenchanted.

However, four top promoters — 3D Events and Management, Harare’s Dee Nosh Inc and Chipaz Promotions, as well as The Odyssey of Kadoma — have partnered to bring the big act to Bulawayo.

The show is set for Hartsfield Rugby Ground and will feature high-riding Zim dancehall stars Winky D and Soul Jah Love, Bulawayo’s Cal_Vin and Djembe Monks. Dee Nosh, real name Kudzai Matondo, of Dee Nosh Inc, confirmed the upcoming show to Southern Eye Lifestyle.

“The show will start at 6pm,” he said.

“Nyovest and his team will touch down in the morning for the big night and we expect a good show.

Nyovest has changed the face of South African hip-hop with his award-winning album Tsholofelo.

“We have been in constant touch with Nyovest (and) he can’t wait to perform in Bulawayo, which is the home of hip-hop locally.”

Dee Nosh added that the collaboration between promoters was meant to help stage big shows.

“We teamed up as four promoters so that we come up with the biggest show ever in Bulawayo,” he said.

“The only big show in the city has been the Kalawa Homecoming show, which comes once a year.”

Edmore Toriro of 3D Events management echoed the same sentiments.

“We are partnering with Harare promoters so that we come up with a big gig,” he said.

“We have noticed that Bulawayo only comes alive in December yet in other cities like Harare it’s happening every month. 3D Events has been quiet and is now coming up with more outdoor events. Party lovers should be prepared for more events.”

Local DJs Kead Wikead and Crazy Blacks, among others, will rock the decks.

He has become the most sought after entertainer and one of the richest rappers in Africa.

He fell in love with Cal_Vin’s track Zikhuphani last month and tweeted that he loved the Bulawayo rapper’s style.

“That Zikhuphani track is my sh**,” he tweeted, indicating that a collaboration between the two rappers may be imminent.
