Somanje was recently admitted at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals suffering from meningitis. Addressing scores of dendera fans who had thronged Ruzawi Sports Bar in Marondera where he held a show, Sulu said he was disturbed by Somanje’s illness.

“We need to pray for our brother Daiton. I wish him a speedy recovery and to you Mukoma Daiton I say rise up and walk now,” Sulu said.

Daiton hails from Marondera where he established his music career in and around the farming town. Sulu however gave a pulsating performance to the entertainment starved people of Marondera with the song Chibaba Chenyuchi, a collaboration with dancehall chanter Soul Jah Love, proving to be the crowd’s favorite.

With Soul Jah Love not in attendance, the Dendera kings leader pulled the bull by its horns and successfully mimicked the dancehall artist’s husky voice.

Meanwhile, the Somanje family has scoffed at rumours that Daiton has died and said that they were disturbed by the false news.

On Saturday rumours on Daiton’s death spread like veld fire on social media but his family said he was recuperating.

Faheem Somanje, Daiton’s eldest, said in an interview that his father was recovering adding that he was shocked when people started paying condolences about his passing away.

“I was with him yesterday (Sunday), and we spent a long time together chatting.

“I was shocked when people started sending condolence messages to me saying my father had died. “That is not true and it is disturbing for people to spread false rumours,” Faheem said.
