Sibusisiwe Ncube (58) and Rebecca Maphosa (44) from Bulilamangwe arrived at Mudzviti bus terminus in the morning on Sunday.

The duo boarded a Mozambique-bound white Toyota Noah at the corner of Robert Mugabe Road near Park Road in Mutare. The vehicle had four adult passengers.

The vehicle, instead of heading for Forbes border post, took the Harare route and one of the male occupants searched Ncube and took her passport, national identity card, Nokia 200 cellphone and $1 000 cash.

After passing Christmas Pass, the vehicle turned right and Ncube was thrown out of the car, but Maphosa remained in the vehicle. A police report was made by Ncube, but no arrest has been made and Maphosa has not yet been found.

Manicaland police spokesperson Inspector Enock Chishiri was not answering his phone yesterday, while his deputy Luxson Chananda said he was not in the office.
