Speaking to the Southern Eye Lifestyle, Club Forty-40 entertainment manager Sibanengi Ndebele, aka DJ Mzoe, said the main reason for the event would be to blend in and mix DJs and local musicians so as to give them a chance to showcase their talents during the two nights.

“On May 22, we will host a battle of artistes and they will be a mix-up of upcoming and old musicians on the day so that each could get a chance to showcase talents they have.

Each artiste will be given only five minutes to showcase the best talent he or she has in order to walk away home with $200. The winner will take all and strictly no rules will apply!” he said.

Thirty local artistes have registered for the battle and Center Party will be the host on the night.

On Saturday, 40-Forty will continue hosting battle of DJs and again the winner would walk away with $200.

“Fifteen DJs will be given an opportunity to display beforehand what they would showcase and would play different genrés like Zim dance, house, naija, hip-hop and reggae, which is popular,” he said.

DJ Mzoe said there was still room for artistes who want to come and register for the battle.

Some of the DJs and artistes that will feature on the battle include Teflon, Nospa, KAI 1, Teflon, Noma Dat DJ Nash from Harare, Khoi Khoi, Bovas, Izikhothane, Prozac, Real Kid, Sean Milla, Elements of Africa, Amaghost, Mc Tyto and many more.
