Zibusiso Sibanda (26) of Makokoba, who is out of custody on bail, was not asked to plead to an aggravated indecent assault charge when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sibongile Msipa Marondedze.

The magistrate placed the matter off remand after the State indicated that it was not ready for trial.

Marondedze advised Sibanda that she would be summoned for trial when the State was ready.

Prosecutors say on September 4 2014, Sibanda invited the 12-year-old boy to her house while he was playing with other children.

She took the boy into her bedroom and ordered him to get into her blankets after she had removed her clothes.

She also removed the boy’s clothes and ordered him to have sexual intercourse with her. Sibanda allegedly threatened to kill the boy if he disclosed the abuse to anyone.
