Mncedisi Ndlovu, Bhekimpilo Mthethwa and Nhlanhla Sibanda of Gumani and Mtengwele villages respectively were all found guilty of murder with actual intent despite their plea of not guilty when they appeared at the Bulawayo High Court on Tuesday.

But Justice Martin Makonese found Ndlovu and Mthethwa guilty of four counts of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment for each count.

Makonese found Sibanda guilty of one count of murder and also sentenced him to life in jail. The court heard that between November 18 and December 8 2010, the three killed three women namely Meglina Mahlanga, Nothando Siziba and Ntombana Ncube and a seven-month-old baby girl in the Stanmore area and mutilated their bodies.

Acting on information received from members of the public, police recovered Siziba’s clothes from Ndlovu’s girlfriend and further investigations led to their arrest.

They were being represented by pro deo lawyers Tanaka Muganyi, Ndabezinhle Mazibuko and Nathan Mashayamombe.
