Siateaya initially complained of a serious headache and was admitted at Mpilo Central Hospital in May 2014 for one month in the Intensive Care Unit. He was transferred to Harare Central Hospital where he ingested through a tube until April. He has a swollen face and conditions he experienced before hospital admission have since recurred.

Siateaya’s condition reportedly contributed to divorce of his parents and the father does not foot the son’s medical bills.

Mallace Zulu, Siateaya’s mother, told Southern Eye that her son complained of a headache in May 2014 and collapsed.

He was rushed to a spiritual healer who certified him dead. But an ambulance crew took him to hospital instead where he was admitted. He will need to pay $2 500 for having tests conducted.
