Council chief executive officer Brian Rufasha said they had since helped 50 pupils from the district with school fees and were in the process of compiling names of 50 more beneficiaries.

“We have assisted 50 children through our council bursary and we are also in the process of compiling names of 50 other kids we would want to help,”Rufasha told Southern Eye last Saturday.

“Council has so far channeled $3 700 through the bursary as we play our part in assisting children access education.”

Rufasha said his council’s finance committee was in the process of putting up a budget framework for next year to give stakeholders a chance to participate.

“We are proactive and to give our stakeholders a chance to participate in the budget by the end of July we will have budget framework so that come November it can be tabled,” he said.
