The two were selected for the camp from last year’s National Association of Secondary School Heads (Nash) Copa Coca-Cola Boys’ Under-16 national finals in Harare.

Four-time Copa Coca-Cola winners Mzilikazi were the best performers last year in the national finals despite losing in the semi-finals while Oriel lost to Chemhanza in the final.

Coca-Cola Zimbabwe brand manager Takunda Jinda said: “We will be leaving via South Africa on Friday (today). We hope this will be a life-changing opportunity for many and particularly for Devine and Leroy who were chosen from a huge pool of good players. They will be in a camp that lets you experience what it means to think, act, play your part, and win like a world champion.

“The next days will be packed with training, workshops, games, events and tournaments hosted by world-class football personalities to ensure you get all the knowledge and expertise you need. Beyond that they will also have the chance to make new friends, experience different cultures and visit Berlin – the capital of the 2014 Fifa World Cup champions and one of the world’s most exciting cities.”

Speaking at the 2015 national finals held at Barbourfields Stadium at the weekend, which were won by Dewure from Masvingo, who beat Rujeko of Mashonald Central 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out in the final, Nash president Johnson Madhuku paid tribute to Coca-Cola for handing the teenagers the opportunity to travel to Europe.

“We are grateful to Coca-Cola for their continued support in opening new horizons for our children. We had two boys in Germany at the World Cup and we always have training camps that have opened up avenues for those gifted in sport.”

Last year, two local boys, Tatenda Tumba and Tatenda Munditi, were in Brazil for six days during the 2014 Soccer World Cup courtesy of Copa Coca-Cola. The two, members of the Chemhanza and Copa Coca-Cola Dream Team, attended a training camp and watched some of the matches at the World Cup before returning home.
