Defensive link man Menard Mupera, leading scorer Timothy January and central defender Nelson Tachi are doubtful starters for tomorrow’s tie due to injuries while strikers Mgcini Sibanda and Benjamin Marere, and defender Morris Kadzola have been ruled out.

Sibanda was injured last Saturday on national duty with the Young Warriors in South Africa.

However, despite the setback, coach Luke “Vahombe” Masomere said he was ready for Highlanders, come tomorrow.

Bosso bundled out the gold miners with a 3-1 win at Hartsfield Rugby Grounds last year in the quarter-finals of the Chibuku Super Cup, but the self-styled doctor of football yesterday said that was history.

“That is history. We cannot talk about it,” Masomere said. “What happened then cannot be a reflection of Sunday’s game. We are ready for the game, but we have a serious challenge. We only registered 23 senior players and we could not fill in the other slots because of other circumstances.”

How Mine registered Louis Matawu and Fungai Chirinda during the Zifa mid-season transfer window.

The gold miners will be banking on the likes of Kuda Musharu, Thembani “Smaller” Masuku, Heritein Masuku and Wonder Sithole against the Bulawayo giants tomorrow.

Highlanders coach Bongani Mafu was also singing the same song saying his chief striker Knox Mutizwa was injured in South Africa while Obadiah Tarumbwa, Erick Mudzingwa and Douglas Sibanda were doubtful starters for tomorrow’s tie.

Gabriel Nyoni could be bouncing back after a long layoff due to injury and Mafu could use gangling forward Obert “Adebayo” Tafira and utility player Peter Muduhwa, registered mid-season.

“It is going to be a tough match. It is a game that we need to win. How Mine is one of the strongest teams in the land and are on position three on the log standings,” Mafu said.
