ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa once again failed to collect maximum points for the fifth time since taking over the hot seat from Saul Chaminuka who parted ways with the top-flight club some week ago.

Chidzambwa’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting How Mine at Nyamhunga Stadium yesterday in a Castle Lager Premiership match.

Returning veteran striker Limited Chikafa thrust the hosts into the lead as early as the 13th minute giving the handful of Kauya Katuruturu fans hope that their team was going to harvest goals on the afternoon. How Mine had ZPC Kariba defender Stephen Appiah to thank for deflecting home the equalising goal from a Kudakawashe Musharu goal-bound effort in the 69th minute.

However, Chidzambwa remained optimistic that his charges will get it right.

“We played well the entire match, but our strikers lacked composure. We could have won this match by a wide margin, but guess what, no one is willing to take these chances and make the goals that would count at the end of the day,” Chidzambwa said.

Luke Masomere was happy with the away point after that humiliating drubbing by Highlanders at the weekend.

“Getting a point after playing a 1-1 draw away from home is not all that bad especially coming from that 5-1 thumping by Highlanders. I think it was a balanced match and the result is fair,” Masomere said.

After the goal, ZPC Kariba launched attack after attack on the How Mine goal area but only to be let down by their strikers who took turns to miss the target. They then went to sleep in the 69th minute to give How Mine a chance to equalise denying Chidzambwa his first set of three points as ZPC Kariba coach.

Chidzambwa has only managed one win in the Chibuku Super Cup where he knocked out Caps United via a penalty shootout in the capital last week.
