THE Tendai Biti-led People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s general council will next week convene in Bulawayo to wrap up some of its outstanding issues from its inaugural congress, before launching its two policy documents.

Party spokesperson, Jacob Mufume confirmed the two meetings.
“The top party leadership will be in Bulawayo next week for two key meetings.
“First would be the general council, where we will conclude the congress agenda.
“It’s the first general meeting after the congress.
“We will discuss strategies on how to move the party and the country forward. Some of the issues are the constitution of the party, regulations of the party and other issues that members will raise,” he said.

However, according to insiders, one of the sticking issues was the composition of the party’s youth wing following reports that supporters from Manicaland were unrepresented in the general council.
Also on the agenda is the appointment of national executives as portfolio secretaries.
