GOKWE — A 40-year-old man was on Friday slapped with a six-year jail term for stealing 10 donkeys from another villager in Siasamba village in Gokwe North.
REPORT BY STAFF REPORTER
John Siamachela pleaded guilty to stocktheft when he appeared before Gokwe resident magistrate Sheppard Mjanja.
The magistrate convicted and sentenced him to six years in jail.
One year of the sentence was suspended for three years on condition of good behaviour.
Prosecutor Mandla Ndlovu told the court that on June 18 this year, Siamachela went to Siasamba grazing lands in the company of one Isaac Masunda — still at large.
On their return to their homes they saw 10 donkeys belonging to a villager.
They drove the donkeys for about 28km to their homes.
