The provincial executive has blamed the national leadership for failing to turn up to supervise the polls.
Councillor Prince Dube of Ward 10 won the initial primary election. However, a re-run was ordered after one of the candidates claimed that there had been some irregularities.
The party’s provincial organising secretary Albert Mhlanga said the re-run session will now be held today.
“They will now be held tomorrow (today) because Dube had said he did not receive an official letter of the final date of the rerun,” he said.
“Now that he has the letter, the elections will be on tomorrow at the party offices because everybody is now informed about the latest development.”
Mhlanga said the national leadership will be available during the primaries to make sure that all goes accordingly this time around.
