A BULAWAYO man has appeared in court for allegedly robbing a city woman of her cellphone at a bridge in Saurcestown suburb.

Martha Masimbe of Saurcestown was allegedly robbed by Vumisani Ndlovu on June 20 at a fly-over bridge in the same suburb in the evening.
Ndlovu appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Evelyne Mashavakure on Tuesday facing a robbery charge.
Prosecutor Paida Zengeni told the court that on the fateful day, Ndlovu who was with an accomplice, allegedly produced a knife and robbed Masimbe of a Nokia 400 cellphone.
“On June 20 at a bridge in Saurcestown suburb, the accused in the company of another man, is still at large, met the complainant and produced a knife threatening to stab her and then robbed her of her cellphone before disappearing,” he said.
Zengeni said the complainant then made a report at Saurcestown Police Station leading, to the arrest of the accused.
“The accused’s accomplice is still at large,” he said.
