UPCOMING hip-hop artiste Shingirayi “Schingy” Maunganidze is doing well on Channel O with his two videos Ndakuudza and Hustle On.

Schingy said he was happy that videos are being played on one of the best music channels in Africa. “I am excited about the developments and it makes me proud every time people tell me that they saw my videos on Channel O,” he said.

Ndakuudza is a love song and Hustle On is a gospel hip-hop track that inspires youths to work extra hard when life gets harder.

Schingy, who calls himself “The Rap Farmer”, featured Snurbie on Ndakuudza and gospel hip-hop outfit  Christhood  on Hustle On.

“I sent my music to Channel O through MultiChoice Zimbabwe and they approved the quality of my videos since they want well scripted videos that are shot in high definition,” Schingy said.

He is working with Mt  Zion Studios in Harare on two videos that are off his debut album titled The Rap Farmer,  scheduled for release on September 11.

Schingy’s videos were shot in Gweru at the Midlands State University campus and their production cost about $2 000. The young artiste got financial assistance from businessman-cum-politician Phillip Chiyangwa.

“I am trying to be a world- standard artiste as I now have my own website which has helped to market my music. It is paying off. Soon I will feature on some advertising billboards, all thanks to my music,” Schingy added.

Currently Schingy is a third- year student at Midlands State University studying towards an honours degree in Business Studies.
