Agreement between the two clubs was reached on Wednesday night although the possible inclusion of striker Eleazor Rodgers or defender Clayton Daniels in the deal is still being negotiated, according to sources.

The sale of Billiat ends an increasing soap opera around the dazzling Zimbabwean attacker, who was left out of his club’s line-up for their opening match of the new league season last weekend.

Ajax did not register the Zimbabwe international for the new season because if they had done so, and played him against Lamontville Golden Arrows last Saturday, they would have foregone one of the five berths clubs are allowed per season for foreign players.

Billiat was due to begin the last year of his contract at Ajax. His transfer fee easily beats the R6 million that Kaizer Chiefs paid SuperSport United last year for Morgan Gould.

Sundowns, however, now have a dilemma about the number of foreigners in their squad for the coming season.
