Raisedon Baya, one of the festival organisers, said this year’s edition had received overwhelming support from regional and international acts. Baya said the South African group will lead the theatre performances.

“We are happy with the way, this festival is growing. We have more than 15 regional and international acts that will be showcased this year. We really appreciate the support that we have received from our counterparts in other countries and continents,” he said.

Baya added that the play, which tackles various social issues, is a must-watch, as it has left audiences in stitches where ever it has gone. “This play has won more than three international awards and it is a great honour for us to get such a play being presented in our festival, because it tackles different social issues that affect people and how they can overcome them.”

Itsotseng was written by one of South Africa’s renowned writers Omphile Molusi and over the years it has won several international awards and these include, the Royal Shakespeare Company/Baxter Theatre Brett Goldin Award, Edinburgh Fringe First Award, United States Black Theatre Alliance Award and André De Shields Award.
