Rodgers Munyira, a manager at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Airport Meteorological Department, said the cold weather experienced by residents was normal as seasons changed.

“It was quite normal and there is nothing amiss. This is an indication that we are just getting out of winter,” he said.

“There is normal high pressure on the South east coast that gave us these cloudy conditions especially on Monday and Tuesday.”

Munyira said the winter was wearing off and improved warmer conditions were likely to be experienced from today.

“As from Tuesday (yesterday) afternoon, the cloudy conditions will start wearing off and from Wednesday (today) and the days after, people will experience warmer conditions.”
