The congress will be held from Monday to Wednesday.

Other areas would include the revival of the agriculture sector and linking the mining and manufacturing sector, among others issues.

Initially, the CZI congress was supposed to have been held in July this year, but was pushed to October to pave way for harmonised elections.

According to CZI, the deindustrialisation of Bulawayo will this year largely contribute to the depressed industry capacity utilisation expected to fall below 44%.

Capacity utilisation for the manufacturing sector has been on an upward trend since 2009 from 10% to 57,2% in 2011 and then contracted to 44,2% in 2012.

CZI industry is expecting reduced industry capacity utilisation to 44% from 57% as of June this year, as the sector continues to face a myriad of challenges including subdued foreign direct investments, limited long-term loans and huge energy deficit, among other negatives.
