Kilton Moyo, in his book titled: The Sex Trap, describes sex outside wedlock as sinful and illicit, only attracting horror, pain and misery like unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted illnesses and HIV.

He said the book is amply titled The Sex Trap to highlight the “traps that one can fall into if they engage in illicit sex”.

Moyo indicated that the book anchored on Bible teachings and published by Applied Christianity Publishers in South Africa, targets the youth and married couples, but mainly Christians.

“It (book) is based on Bible teachings and it targets mainly the believers, but also the generality of the public especially the youth that face hard choices regarding sexuality issues.

“Sex is good, sex is refreshing, but if done outside the parameters that God set, it can only bring misery and horror yet if done in its proper contest, it is just but a blessing,” Moyo said in an interview with Southern Eye on Tuesday, adding that the book will be launched in December.

“There is so much confusion across the world regarding our sexual relations to an extent that this has caused a lot of pain and horror to a lot of people. The book brings clarity on what God says, thinks about and views sex. God says sex was designed for the married and anyone who indulges outside marriage can only face the resultant consequences,” he said.

According to Moyo, the high divorce rates and the HIV and Aids infection rates in the country and across the world are mainly a “result of this confusion” where people just engage in illicit sex.

“We would not be witnessing the high divorce rates if we were following God’s teachings on sexuality matters. These are the kinds of sex traps and punishments so to say, that we get for indulging in sex outside marriage,” Moyo noted, indicating that his ambition is to have the book adopted by the Education ministry.

Bethel Ngwenya, the chief executive officer of Applied Christianity Publishers writing in a foreword to Moyo’s book indicated that “like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, mankind has been thrown into a confusion of the worst kind when it comes to issues of sex and sexuality.

“What God has clearly condemned and labelled as abnormal behaviour is now being embraced with wide open arms as normal behaviour.”
