Michael Makamure was not asked to plead when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure on Monday and was remanded to November 25 for trial.

The court heard that last week on October 17, police at Barbourfields base got a tip-off that Makamure was stealing drugs and keeping them at a house in Old Lobengula.

It is the State’s case that he would frequent the house and take the drugs to treat his “clients”.

Police raided the house and found drugs worth $24,46. When they questioned a resident at the house, Eddison Musota, he told them the drugs belonged to “doctor” Makamure.

He led them to Makamure’s residence where he revealed to the cops that he stole the drugs from Mpilo Hospital where he worked.
