Ndoro scored his 16th goal against FC Platinum on Sunday when Chicken Inn beat FC Platinum 2-0 at Luveve Stadium and the Mpumalanga Black Aces-bound striker yesterday said it was possible to surpass Maziwisa’s 18 goals as he could score four goals in the remaining matches.

“I set my target at 18 and I have scored 16 goals now and I am confident that I can still get to 20. I had set myself 18 goals because I missed out on some matches when I went for the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations tournament and when I went for trials with Mpumalanga.

“I actually have not played seven matches, which means that I have scored 16 goals in 20 games. Getting to 20 goals will be a bonus,” Ndoro said.

Chicken Inn are left with already-relegated Tripple B, whom they play in the middle of next week in Beitbridge before taking on defending champions Dynamos in Bulawayo and playing their last match at Gibbo Stadium against Triangle.

Close to Ndoro is Buffaloes’ Steven Sibanda with 12 goals with Tripple B’s Aleck Marime and Triangle’s Misheck Mburayi tied on 11.

Interestingly, from the title contenders, Harare City’s Osborne Mukuradare is on 10 goals with Dynamos’ Washington Pakamisa and Highlanders’ Njabulo Ncube on nine goals each.

Last year’s top goalscorer Maziwisa had scored 16 goals with five matches to the end of the season when he was on loan to Shabanie Mine from FC Platinum.

But it was a good feat for Maziwisa, netting 18 goals for the team that survived relegation on the last day. He has, however, struggled on his return to FC Platinum where he has only managed seven goals so far this season although he is the leading scorer at the Zvishavane-based side.

Last year, Maziwisa surpassed the 2011 Golden Boot winner Dynamos’ Rodreck Mutuma who ended the season with a paltry 14 goals.

Maziwisa had last year set himself a target of 22 goals. Ndoro’s goalscoring prowess has seen him attracting the attention of Mpumalanga Black Aces with whom he has signed a one-year renewable contract and is due to start playing for the South African side in the second half of the 2013-2014 Absa Premier Soccer League season in January.

He was loaned back to Chicken Inn after his clearance papers were deemed not in order in the mid-season transfer window period.
