The concert will be held at Bulawayo Theatre in the afternoon and will bring established and aspiring musicians together on one stage.

Pastor Joyce Mungofa, a member of the Bulawayo Gospel Artistes, told Southern Eye Lifestyle in an interview yesterday that everything had been set for the concert.

“Everyone is now geared to rock the city on the day with an interesting schedule.

“The show is meant to uplift the dying gospel music in the city and to incorporate more women in the genre. As women, we should take charge in the music industry and this show will help us do that,” Mungofa added.

“It is not only about us, but for all in the city, especially women. We are calling all to come and join our group as it is open for anyone to give a helping hand in the music industry,” she said.

The five-member group sings Afro-jazz and traditional gospel songs.

Mungofa revealed that a lot of activities would be on offer on the day, with cultural dances, poetry, and singing.

“We have lined up guest artistes such as Kira Music, Dumie Nyongolo, Mpumelelo Shining Stars, Vocal EX and many more.

“We promise nothing but manifestation of hidden talent. The city has a lot of talent that needs exposure and on the day it will be exposed to the world. We urge all to come and support the local talent and also the growth of Gospel music,” she said.

The group, formed this year, intends making the concert an annual event.
