Proprietor Pathisani Nkomo told Southern Eye Lifestyle that Saturday night would be a night to remember as the club celebrates its two years of existence.

The Lounge opened on November 4 2012. During its first anniversary, Nkomo flew in South African popular disc jockeys Dj Cindo and Dj Lady Cream.

“This time around we have decided to bring in locals. It is all about celebrating the club’s birthday and the amount of work that has been put in by our great team of employees,” Nkomo said.

Nkomo said The Lounge had grown from strength to strength since its inception to become probably the busiest night spot bar in the city.

“That has to be recognised and be celebrated. We promise the best quality services from the club. The Lounge team will continually review and improve services and facilities in order to offer our patrons value for their money,” he said.

Dj Otis Fraser has had a major influence and appeals to The Longue clientele.

Nkomo added: “We want to ensure that everyone is happy and enjoys on our special day.”

A rich list of 12 supporting Djs has been lined up with Dj J-Za, Slamma, Mark Vusani, Marcus Andro, Lady Pam, Dash, Kanando, Fela, Mix Maestro, Babongile Sikhonjwa, Owen Owen and Boss Boss.

The line includes Djs that perform at The Lounge on different days of the week.

A part-time producer, Fraser, shot to fame as a radio and club DJ in the early ’90s, having spent time with the then Radio 3 (Power FM) and ZBCTV’s Teen Scene.

He left Zimbabwe for South Africa where he produced Tsodiyo and Final Battle for the late Lebo Mathosa of Boom Shaka and Bongo Muffin, respectively.

He then moved to Botswana where he continued with television broadcasting and radio work.

He has also contributed to the pioneering projects of other producers, including S’kizo.

He returned to join Star FM, the first commercial station to hit the airwaves, where he hosts the Flow Tyme Drive Show.
