Ndlovu wins Mbada Golf Society Competition

The competition which started in May, is expected to end early next year while the 2012-2013 edition of the competition won by Joseph Mushaka ended on April.

Ndlovu got a gross score of 81 playing off handicap 14 getting a net score of 67 in the process.

The former BBA spokesperson yesterday told Southern Eye Sport that he had a good day in the greens.

“It was my first time to win the Mbada Golf Society competition. I had a good game and the course was very beautiful. I was hitting the ball high and it was landing directly on the greens and straight to the pins.

“It was a good day for me because I won three prizes. I have to be consistent because I do not have many points. I need to play well in the next Mbada Golf Society Competition,” he said.

Norbert Sebastian playing off handicap 14, posted a gross score of 83 to emerge on second spot, as he got a net score of 69 while Maxwell Zhuwarara followed on third spot.

Zhuwarara playing off handicap 19 grossed 91 to get a netscore of 72.

Ndlovu was also the gross winner as he got a gross score of 81.

Jebus Karuru won the nearest to pin on hole number three, Mushaka won the nearest to pin on number seven while Crispen Magosvongwe and Sebastian won the nearest to pins on holes number 11 and 15 respectively.

Ndlovu also claimed the longest drive in the men’s section while Linda Rubaya won the longest drive in the women’s category.

Other golfers who featured on the day include football legend Ebson “Sugar” Muguyo, Wilfred Chinembiri, Brian Sanangurai, Givens Hapadziwi, Wishes Nyoni and Matabeleland Golf Association president Mufaro Chivonivoni in the competition that attracted 25 golfers.

Nyoni is top of the Mbada Golf Society Order of Merit with 50,5 points while defending champion Mushaka is second having collected 47,5 points.

The next competition will be played on November 24.
